tiny things

I got the smallest envelope in the mail today from anthro.

So, I thought, this has to be good.
And I opened it.

And I opened it a little more.

I went to North Carolina a few months ago to see my wonderful amazing best friend. My Katie Love made me this gorgeous box. We have a long standing tradition of making boxes for each other. We've been doing this since high school but this one is by far my favorite. I love it. and Katie.

Last week I spied the "big hair affair" on LUSH's website and I had to know if they sold it in stores (I didn't want it to melt...) so I rang up Marissa, self professed LUSH queen (she works there) and asked if I could pick one up. Well, I got one and it is jam packed of sample sizes. I am such a sucker for the sample size of anything. *sigh* they are so cute and tiny! Oh, and I am now addicted to Big Volumizing Shampoo. It makes my hair thick! Who knew such a product existed?

I am off to the library and Michael's to get supplies to make someone a surprise ;)
thank you Marissa and Katie, my two loves

G Free Diet by, Elizabeth Hasselbeck

Elizabeth Hasselbeck and I have our differences but I put those aside when I read this book because finally there is a celebrity that can perhaps create more awareness about Celiac Disease. After all, there is an estimate of 1 out of 133 in America with CD. More awareness also means more attention to the needs of people with CD. Everyday there are more and more wonderful new brands of delicious G Free foods being stocked in our supermarkets and health food stores. Everyday there are also more and more restaurants that are helping out people like me by making it easier to go out to eat and not have to worry about the consequences.

This book is very helpful. If you are living with CD or you think you may have it or if you just want to understand what it is, read this book. Elizabeth Hasselbeck does a good job of doing her research but even though the book is wham bam full of information, it still reads like a memoir or a nice conversation with a friend.

GF dinner adventures

Last night I had cotton candy for dinner. Oh yeah! anyway, I've been making dinner a lot with help from Mr. Doug (except for last night's little indulgence). We've been making some super yummy food. Later I will post some pictures of our dinner adventures and maybe even some recipes. Just wanted to share some of the dinners we've had:

Baked Salmon with Basil Butter
GF Meatloaf smothered in Tomato Gravy and Red Mashed Potatoes with bacon
Tomato Parmesan Pasta with Grilled Chicken
Chicken and White Bean Chili
Salmon Salad with Romaine, Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, GF Croutons, and Northern Italian Dressing and Olive Oil. (used ^ leftover Salmon)
Pulled Pork Sandwiches
